The Travel & Tourism School Directory

Directory of Travel & Tourism Schools & Programs

An exciting career in the travel and tourism industry awaits--find out how to get a degree making dream vacations a life-changing reality!

Learn to Vacation: Travel and Tourism Schools Directory

Travel and tourism school degrees can give you the education to help others plan their vacation, and can also provide you with expert insights to plan your own adventures abroad! Whether you're a clerk at a travel agency or a tour guide on a faraway island, a degree in travel and tourism will give you the tools to get paid to see the world. To work in the travel industry, you should possess these characteristics: organization, polished interpersonal and phone skills, an outgoing personality who enjoys interacting with others as well as good typing and computing skills.

A degree from a travel and tourism school can lead to a career as a travel agent or a tour guide. You can also work in hospitality and hotel management with a travel and tourism degree. You can earn a diploma or certificate in six months to two years from a travel and tourism school. Some programs can be completed entirely online, saving you time and money, plus you can work in your chosen field while you earn your degree.

As a travel and tourism student, you can learn necessary computer skills for your career. Your studies might also include courses in geography and foreign language. You will also learn how to book flights and arrange travel itineraries. Travel agents spend a great deal of time on the computer and the phone, booking flights and vacations. Travel arrangement and reservation services have the highest paying jobs in the travel industry. Travel agents with a four-year degree who specialize in a travel niche have the greatest chances of employment.
