A guide for your career plans in Education

The importance of education cannot be overstated. An individual's future often depends on the amount and quality of education he or she has had. The kind of jobs people get and the amount of money they earn in their careers has a direct relationship to the kind of education they have received. In today's rapidly changing world, education is an ongoing process. Most people keep seeking and acquiring new knowledge even after they complete their formal studies.

By entering a career in education, you will be part of the future. You will be part of one of the careers that makes the biggest difference in the future of civilization. This is true whether you study early childhood education, secondary education, adult education, or educational services and administration.

Your studies in the education field can lead you to a number of different careers. The institutions that employ educators include academic, vocational, technical, and career education. Your career choices include work in public schools and private schools as well as a great array of others. For example, you may find yourself entering a corporate education career. Many large corporations and enterprises use education specialists to train employees. Many of these positions are in other countries. Large institutions such as the military also employ teachers. There are also career opportunities in highly specialized areas and among specialized populations. Hospitals, prisons and long-term care facilities all employ teachers. Once you have completed your studies in the basic field of education, you will be able to dedicate yourself to an enormous number of specialty fields such as arts education, special education—working with challenged students—and even post-secondary education in colleges and universities.
